SORRY...ITS BEEN SOLD!!! VERY RARE, Near Mint condition, Art Deco inspired Taylor AB-2 4-String Fretted Acoustic-Electric Bass, stunning Imbuia (Brazilian Walnut) back, sides and top, with original deluxe Taylor rigid padded gig bag. Now we really have something very special here. Many consider the Taylor AB Acoustic Electric Basses (AB-1, AB-2, AB-3) to among the finest sounding acoustic basses ever built. These were designed by Steve Klein and Robert Taylor and produced in limited numbers only between 1996-2003, now out of production and extremely hard to find in this condition. I've played quite a few acoustic basses and for my money the Taylor ABs are the best sounding acoustic electric basses I've heard short of some really high-end hand made models (Martin acoustic basses are also a step above what you find at the large chain stores). This particular AB-2 is in near perfect condition, plays and sounds amazingly good. Comes with the factory installed Fishman ABGP-2 Pickup/Preamp (very nice natural acoustic bass reproduction and sound shaping controls). The AB-2 has 24 frets on an Ebony fretboard, Ebony nut (neck width is 1.6" width @ nut), Phenolic saddle, Imbuia bridge, Imbuia headstock overlay, venetian cutaway, chrome plated grover tuners, with a special Steve Klein Signature fretboard inlay. The body length is 22.25", body width at widest point is 19", scale length is 34" and overall length is 51.75". This is indeed a BIG, BIG acoustic bass, so you will need to have pretty long arms to be able to comfortably manage this big boy, most likely sitting on a stool with the bass supported on your knee "unplugged style". Bottom line, this is a WAY COOL looking, awesome sounding, very rare and extremely fun to play A-E bass...top quality in all regards. Cut and paste this link to the Taylor Website for more info on the AB-2: http://www.taylorguitars.com/Guitars/Archive/Older/archive/models.asp?id=ab2 Oversize shipping rates will apply.
